The In & Out Club is one of London's oldest, founded by a party of army officers in 1862. The current clubhouse in St James's Square was originally built in 1679 and boasts many beautiful architectural features. BaxterStorey won the contract - which started in March - to operate the club's services. These include reception, 54 bedrooms, a coffee room and restaurant, the Goat Bar Brasserie, a leisure centre with pool and conference and banqueting rooms for up to 100 covers.

room serviceSHL's residential management training centre is based at Woodstock House, a large Edwardian country house in Surrey. BaxterStorey has been operating all departments - housekeeping, reception, garden, leisure, maintenance and sales & marketing - as well as catering, since the beginning of January this year. The centre has 74 en-suite study bedrooms, 31 meeting rooms, a leisure complex and beautiful, extensive gardens. The contemporary restaurant offers healthy eating, vegetarian choices and a wide range of international dishes.

A GOOD START
Claire Little, Commercial Director, Training for SHL, is pleased with developments at Woodstock House: "It's early days yet, but our delegate intake for January was 33% up on the same time last year. That's a good start.

"BaxterStorey people are great to work with - we knew they would be when we interviewed them in the tender process. They're 'hands on', proactive and professional. They listen, but they are not 'Yes men'. We're now in the process of planning a large event venue at the training centre and we feel confident that BaxterStorey will help us get it right."
