Prize-Winning Catering Is Just Their Cup Of Tea
Wilson Storey Halliday is the largest independent contract catering company in the UK and has been trading since 1985, originally as Halliday Catering Services. The business merged with Wilson Storey in 2001 as well as acquiring another catering business, Houston and Church.
The company provides total catering services to business and industry clients and operates a number of commercial catering contracts including the English National Opera and the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester.
In March 2004 Wilson Storey Halliday grew the business by acquiring independent schools catering specialist Cater Link Ltd. The company won the Fastest Growing Business award at the Sage Business Awards in 2003.
Keith Wilson, Commercial Director for Wilson Storey Halliday, explains why the company entered the awards: "It's good for the whole team to be recognised for all their success. "To achieve the great growth we have had is very much a team effort and we felt there was no better way for the team to be rewarded for their hard work than to enter the awards and hopefully win something."
Managing Director Alastair Storey was thrilled when the company heard they had won the Fastest Growing Business award. "Everyone was delighted," he explains. "And very proud that our achievements were being recognised on the national stage against some of the best businesses in the country."
Since winning the award, Wilson Storey Halliday has continued to go from strength to strength.
Says Keith: "We continue to focus on the same areas which were recognised by the awards, great food, excellent service and consistent delivery. "These factors have helped us to achieve great growth again, with sale stopping £56 million, showing more than23 per cent growth for the 12 months to December 2003."
