campbellThe launch of the 2007 Michelin Guide Britain today confirms a second Michelin star for Chef John Campbell of The Vineyard at Stockcross in Berkshire, highlighting the hotel as one of just 5 hotels in the UK to obtain a second Michelin Star.

This month also marks Campbell's five-year anniversary at The Vineyard at Stockcross, where he and his team of 16 prepare gastronomic fare of the highest standards in one of the most technically advanced hotel kitchens in the country. John said "I am delighted to receive the 2nd Michelin Star. It is certainly my life's ambition and a true recognition of hard work from all the team at The Vineyard from the reservations team right through to the housekeepers. The Vineyard is the perfect venue to set off my style of cooking."

Refined and luxurious, the restaurant boasts an elegant new look incorporating an extraordinary collection of art and sculpture to complement Campbell's pioneering approach to cooking. Already renowned on a worldwide stage for its outstanding International wine list of 2000 wines, 600 of which are Californian, The Vineyard's gastronomic delights are now gaining the heightened recognition John Campbell has strived for since his arrival in 2002.

Campbell is recognised within the industry for his expertise and flair, and was recently awarded the Craft Guild of Chefs Restaurant Chef of the Year. The second Michelin star acknowledges Campbell's commitment to producing skilfully and carefully crafted signature dishes. Known as a master of sous vide cooking, John will undertake his first master class in this culinary art in February 07.
