M&S Events Team Takes Off
Bryn Roberts heads up the BaxterStorey events team for Marks & Spencer that provide all internal and external special functions for the retailing giant. These include press and fashion events, corporate financial presentations and conferences for up to 1200 delegates. Recent events for Marks & Spencer have included the 07 spring/summer fashion show at the London Trocadero, the Per Una autumn/winter 07 Fashionista Tea Party held at Il Bottaccio for 250 journalists and the Elle Decoration British Design Awards at Ladbroke Hall.
Bryn explains that the food is typically very stylised and chic to compliment the overall theme of each event and this is particularly important for the fashion shows. We work very closely with each client and/or production company to ensure all aspects of the food and beverage service including menus, styling, equipment and service ware reflect the key event messages and the target audience.
Bryn's team also supports other BaxterStorey units and independent clients and has recently worked for ITV Granada where they catered for the "Labour Party Conference end of Conference Reception" at Granada Television Studios. For this event, which was attended by the Prime Minister and The Chancellor of the Exchequer, the client wanted to promote the best of local foods and the events team searched local food markets looking for fantastic ingredients, some of which were nominated for a UKTV "Food Hero Award".
Other events have included work for Walt Disney attended by Gail Porter, Jonathan Ross and Angus Deayton, ITV's 50th anniversary for Charles Allen and the opening of the Roald Dahl Museum, attended by Cherie Blair.
