Alastair Storey talks 'family' at industry association luncheon.

London's Café Royal was the venue for the latest 'Arena' event and Wilson Storey Halliday Managing Director, Alastair Storey made his address to over 150 members of this industry association.

Arena is the hospitality network run by the industry for the industry and leading figures from all walks of the foodservice sector were in attendance, including those representing Compass, Aramark and Avenance.

The title of the talk 'Keeping it in the family' reflected on the evolving success the industry has seen over the past 15 years and some of the major step changes that business has experienced. The upshot of which has led to higher standards, fiercer competition and an industry profile that is benefiting all.

These changes have created opportunities and as Alastair explained companies like Wilson Storey Halliday have been able to become more innovative, responsive and entrepreneurial as a result. Wilson Storey Halliday has developed an 'edge' in business performance, which is very much down to the calibre of its people.

Success as Alastair put it, is built upon a family of people that connect with and respect each other. Wilson Storey Halliday is working hard to create that family and the right environment for all those individuals to flourish. By investing in IT to facilitate effective communication and introducing tailored training and development programmes for individuals, he believes the foundations for success are in place.
