Judges fall for Seduction!
At the beginning of 2007 BaxterStorey and First Choice Coffee launched the National Barista Championships. The competition was entered by 200 staff in regional heats across UK and where whittled down to eight finalists. Judged on technical skills, beverage presentation and the total overall impression, each contestant had ten minutes to prepare a cappuccino, latte double espresso and a signature drink containing coffee to demonstrate creativity and technical ability.
William Munoz, manager of the L'Oreal staff restaurant in London emerged as the champion at the finals held at ITV London in February. He prepared a perfect cappuccino high quality latte together with his signature drink "Seduction" which included cherry liqueur, Green and Black's Fairtrade chocolate ice-cream, chilli powder, milk and coffee. William won a weekend for two in Milan and will now be entered for the 2008 UK Barista Championships.
