ipcIn April 2007, Magazine publisher IPC Media moved their five London offices to new headquarters in Southwark. The new building, named The Blue Fin building by its staff, will house 3,000 people in what is undoubtedly a building which makes an architectural statement.

BaxterStorey was appointed to open the new services on 1st May. The catering and hospitality facilities include a café situated on the top floor, which boasts a winter garden and terrace with panoramic views right across London.

The team, led by catering manager Ricky Wilmont, worked solidly throughout the weekend to get everything ready for the opening"

ipc1Ricky has been with BaxterStorey for five years and was previously group manager at Edexcel where he was shortlisted for Unit Manger of the Year 2006 at the Cost Sector Magazine Awards.

IPC Media Facilities director Jenny Noon says: "Ricky is a great appointment. His catering experience is in equal proportion to his Irish charm. He has been heavily involved in the launch of the café and coffee bar and the results speak for themselves - yesterdays café opening was a fantastic success.

"I'd also like to take this chance to thank the BaxterStorey catering team who pulled off an incredible achievement on Monday. Having only been handed the kitchen on Wednesday night, and with gas and power problems at times putting the opening in jeopardy, the team of chefs and assistants worked solidly over the weekend to deliver the fantastic service we all enjoyed yesterday. It was a superb opening and, as predicted, the salad bar was swamped."
