Entrepreneur of the Year 2003
The three founding directors of Wilson Storey Halliday, Keith Wilson, Alastair Storey and Linda Halliday, have been short-listed as finalists for the South's Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2003.
The awards recognise great business achievements in growing dynamic businesses not only in the UK, but around the World. Founded and produced by Ernst & Young the awards are co-sponsored by the London Stock Exchange, The Times and UBS Private Banking.
The coveted Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Award is the most prestigious prize for business achievement and winners will be announced during a special ceremony at the Radisson Edwardian hotel on 25 June.
In 2002, over 300 of the UK's most outstanding entrepreneurs were nominated for an Entrepreneur Of The Year award, including 42 for the South region. Over 218 regional finalists were short listed after a rigorous selection process. A process which all three Wilson Storey Halliday directors have had to go through as Linda Halliday comments;
"We have certainly been put through our paces in the judging interviews. We have all had to talk at length about the business in terms of company performance, finance, everything. But if we win it will be a great achievement and testament to the great team we have here."
Award recipients are selected by prestigious independent regional and national judging panels made up of leading figures from the business and academic communities including past Entrepreneur Of The Year award recipients. The judging criteria includes growth in turnover, profit and employee numbers, together with such factors as degree of innovation, development of creative and ingenious production, marketing and selling techniques and extent of expansion into national and international markets.
If Keith, Alastair and Linda receive an award at the regional final, they are then entered into the national Entrepreneur Of The Year awards which takes place later this year. We will keep you posted...
