BaxterStorey’s Marc Bradley named “Young FD of the Year”
Marc Bradley, Chief Financial Officer of BaxterStorey and its parent company Westbury Street Holdings (WSH), was crowned Young Finance Director of the Year at FDs’ Excellence Awards held on 12 May.
The FDs’ Excellence Awards recognise the UK best-performing FDs and is supported by the Institute of Chartered Accountants (England and Wales) as well as the CBI and leading business magazine, Real Business magazine.
Marc joined BaxterStorey back in 2007 just as benugo and Holroyd Howe were joining the WSH stable. His astute management of the last stages of the deals and his outstanding performance in integrating the operations swiftly and seamlessly alongside BaxterStorey and its sister businesses avoided the disruption frequently experienced with such events. Marc’s sharp financial eye has allowed BaxterStorey’s management team to focus on meeting its fantastic fresh food, brilliant service promise to the business and industry market and has been pivotal to the company’s continued success.
The judging panel for the award was made up of a wide range of industry experts including the editor of Real Business, a director from Sainsburys and Prof Andy Neely from Cranfield School of Management. One member of the FDs’ judging academy said: “Marc's strategic thinking is very impressive. He clearly thinks outside the box as demonstrated by the way he has handled and implemented the transactions undertaken at WSH and it is clear that he is a very respected individual within the board there.”
Commenting on his win, Marc Bradley, said: “BaxterStorey aims to be the best in class in all that it does and I’ve simply applied the same approach to its financial management. With adoption of best practice, process improvements and strong team work we have been able to fully support BaxterStorey in achieving its potential in what has been an extremely challenging economic climate. I’m really proud of how brilliantly my team has worked to deliver our promise to the business and it goes without saying that it’s wonderful to be recognised by such an esteemed award.”
