Baxtersmith Wins Marks & Spencer Contract
Independent business caterer BaxterSmith has been awarded the prestigious Marks & Spencer foodservice contract - the first time the flagship retailer has outsourced its in-house catering.
The two-year contract, with an annual turnover of £3 million, commences in November this year. BaxterSmith will initially provide staff dining and hospitality for 3000 people at Marks & Spencer's head office at Baker Street, London, and 700 at the administrative centre at Stockley Park near Heathrow. A new company headquarter building is due to open at Paddington Basin, London, in Spring 2004, and BaxterSmith will manage the foodservice relocation.
BaxterSmith won the contract in a five-way pitch between Avenance, Charlton House, Eurest and Wilson Storey Halliday. Marks & Spencer used consultants Tricon in the decisionmaking process
