Barista Acadamey Launched with World Champion James Hoffman
We have now established the BaxterStorey Barista Academy, based in London at IPC Media and based on a unique initiative linking First Choice Coffee, World Barista Champion (2007) James Hoffman and our own in house training team to deliver the best trained baristas and managers in the business.
Every team member who makes and serves coffee and anyone who manages those teams undergoes rigorous training that encompasses every element of the coffee journey, from understanding the process and machines to making and serving the best cup of coffee.
Our senior management teams, including our board of directors, also participate in the training, so the ethos and importance of serving great coffee becomes a core message throughout our business.
We are very proud that James Hoffman has agreed to support our training programme.
James started in the coffee industry in 2003, and quickly gained a reputation in the industry as being passionate and informed on many aspects of espresso preparation. In 2007 he won the World Barista Championship, held in Japan. James has worked closely with us to design a highly effective syllabus that really focuses on the key elements to make a great cup of coffee.
We know that we are unique in delivering the scope of training and development across our business and the BaxterStorey BaristaAcademy is a visible demonstration to the commitment we make both to our highly dedicated site teams and our customers.
