acergyIn April 2008, Acergy selected BaxterStorey to provide the catering service at its new Westhill office in Aberdeen. The operation opened in November 2008 providing staff and visitors with a fresh, modern and exciting food and beverage offer across two buildings.

The first floor cafe, Caboose, named after the food preparation area of a ship, provides all day speciality tea and coffee, homemade cakes, pastries, grab and go and a full deli bar offer during lunch.

acergyThe 220-seater ground floor restaurant, named Carni after a local forest, offers a fruit and yoghurt bar throughout the day, a full range of hot and cold breakfast items, a variety of traditional and bistro style hot food, homemade soups and breads, sixteen salad items, hot desserts and snacks. We also cater for 120 people in the workshop. Clachnaben, named after the mountain which it overlooks, provides a condensed hot and cold food offer, very similar to what’s on offer in the main restaurant and cafe bar.

Graham Meil, Managing Director for Acergy UK, commented on the appointment: “We looked at a number of catering companies but BaxterStorey shone out amongst the rest, our decision to work with them was justified as the food and service on offer is of the highest quality. One of our goals is to support the community we work in and as such, I am delighted that BaxterStorey sources over 70% of its fresh food from local producers”

In addition to staff dining, we also provide a hospitality service throughout the building, mostly within the ground floor executive hospitality suite. We provide a variety of working lunches and fork buffets along with speciality beverage trays throughout the day.

BaxterStorey’s operations manager, Simon Houston comments: "Acergy has given us a magnificent opportunity to put our stamp on Aberdeen. With such quality supplies on your doorstep and the most fantastic facility that Acergy has provided, we have a great showcase and a unit to be very proud of.”

Key to BaxterStorey’s appointment was our policy of local procurement and the sourcing of quality Scottish ingredients. We source over 70% of our fresh food from Aberdeen based companies. Not only was this key to our appointment, this also helps to ensure our food is of the best quality and low in food miles while helping support the local businesses and enterprise within the area.

Managing Director of local bakery Aberdeen Buttery Company comments: “We are very happy to be involved with BaxterStorey, it is great to see a company dedicated to local sourcing with quality and service at the top of their list.”
